The industry and commodity approaches to identifying the technological intensity level of industry and some products are researched. The essence of concepts "technological intensity" and "the technological intensity level" are exposed. The practical limitations and advantages of both the industry and commercial approaches to determining the technological intensity level are characterized. The necessity of identifying technological intensity levels of Ukraine's export is grounded. The commodity positions of UCC FEA are selected by the technological intensity criterion.
